Nov 29, 2009 – Los Angeles, CA – As Southland residents begin planning holiday parties for their families and employees, this year more than ever they are looking for something new to spice up their celebrations. The party planners at Zebra Entertainment and Events have noticed this new trend already.
Typically people book the traditional favorites, like Santa Claus, elves making balloon animals, and Dickens carolers. This year they’re asking for carolers who can also lead sing-alongs with the family, or a hilarious caroling show that spoofs the well-known songs. They want a snow princess to entertain the children, and real reindeer to pose for pictures. Even Hanukkah parties want more diverse entertainment this season.
With the recent opening of the second Twilight movie, New Moon, which features werewolves, some customers are looking at having a live wolf come to their party for petting and photo opportunities. Zebra Entertainment and Events will even be decorating their white pony to look candy-striped. Other people are asking about monkeys, giant reptiles and birds of prey to make an appearance at their Christmas party.
“I don’t remember anyone booking exotic animals for a holiday party before, but this year they certainly are,” says owner Shelly Mazer. “People want to stop stressing and just enjoy this holiday season. They are tired of skimping, but don’t want to go overboard either. They want good value for their money, and they want to mix it up a little, try something new. When they ask for Christmas party ideas, they love when we suggest a live Christmas ornament with an acrobat inside, or a comedy juggling elf band on stilts!”
